CHAPTER 7

I woke up excitedly because ball events make my heart flutters! It's like a prom from high school! I never have one before, but this trip is a 10/10 recommendation! It's like they were providing dying wishes.

When I looked at Alex's bed, he's not there. My eyes roamed around the room because it's too early for him to go somewhere.

"Looking for me?" I immediately looked at Alex, who just came out of the bathroom. He was smiling again as usual while staring at my face. He walked towards my bed while I only stare at him as if he will be gone in any minute, "Hey, I told you, I don't go anywhere." He gently said. It calms me whenever he does that. I don't know, but I like it.

"Won't you invite me to the ball?" My right brow raised in confusion. I mean, we're the only one who's here unless he has a girlfriend here, which makes him not to invite me at all.

Alex chuckled, and it's funny because his laughs make my heart melt. It makes me stares at him, and it's weird for me to do that. I mean, we're friends. Right?

"Would you be my date tonight?" Alex asked cutely. I let out a soft chuckle as I looked directly at his eyes, his beautiful gray eyes.

"No," I quickly answered. Alex's smile suddenly got vanished as his face turned into a confused look. I almost laugh because of his sudden reaction to saying no to him. I bet he hasn't experienced not rejected or he didn't see that coming, "What? Why? Are you serious?" He suddenly asked.

"Nothing, I mean, is that how you do your proposals on prom?" I asked with fake disgust. His face suddenly got softened.

"Oh, yeah," He said, almost a whisper while staring at somewhere.

I shook my head as I found myself smiling because of his reactions. He's so cute! Why he always act as he has never done this before? Was I wrong for accusing him of a playboy? His face and even his body can tell it, though.

I walked inside the bathroom as I brush my teeth while starting to think about the party tonight. I was staring at the mirror, watching myself from brushing my perfect teeth.

"Am I wrong to asked him to date me? I mean, I went here alone, and I can go there all by myself without a man beside me. I'm a rockstar, independent woman!

I took a shower, and when I walked out of the bathroom, there's already food. I quickly looked at Alex, who's lying on his bed, staring at me as if he was waiting for my reaction.

"What is that?" My forehead creased in confusion, "Did you call for room service for this?" I asked him as my jaw dropped. He's unbelievable.

Room service here is hell expensive, that's why I always go to the cafeteria instead, even though I'm a lazy person. I don't spend much money. I'm already used to saving money ever since because that's my sister taught me when I was a kid.

"This is how I start my proposal to you, Ava," He said as he sat down properly on his bed, showing his freaking smile. And all I could do was to close my mouth from hanging in disbelief.

"Could you stop doing that?" I winced. He suddenly chuckled, which makes me be annoyed even more.

"Doing what?" He asked while smiling and looking at my eyes as if he was not making my heart flutters!

"Doing that!" I even pointed his face like I was a crazy woman! "Stop smiling! Ugh!" I exclaimed, which makes him laugh even more. He indeed likes me to be annoyed like every time!

"Why would I do that? My mom loves my smile. She told me that girls would fall for it," He chuckling said and stood up as he slowly walked to me, " Why? Are you falling now?"

I stayed silent and almost carried away from his stares. I quickly stepped away from him before anything happens. We're friends, and I think that we should stay that way.

"Fine, I accept your proposal, but you better be there at 8! And don't ever be late!" I yelled nervously as I quickly turned my back to walked back from the bathroom.

"Yes, boss!" I heard him saying as I heard nothing for the next few minutes after.

I leaned against at the back of the door, thinking about what I did there! God! That was so embarrassing for me!

"What were you thinking?! You almost scared him away!" I said to myself with so much irritation.

I let out a big sigh as I went out, and he was gone. I just ate the food that he ordered from the room service.

It was already six in the evening, and I was only getting ready. Alex and I decided that I'll use this whole room this afternoon. I don't know if he's already there, waiting for me. But whatever it is, I don't care for now, and I'll focus on myself.

I got myself a red fitted dress, and I was glad that I brought my silver heels with me. I tried so hard with my make-up to be more fierce enough, and I think that I did it! I'm not really into this stuff, but at least I tried!

"Look at this rockstar! It just got turned into a gorgeous different woman today!" I said excitedly. Now, I couldn't wait for Alex to see me. My sister told me once that red suits me.

I wore my silver necklace and earrings as I get my pouch on the bedside table. I was nervous because It was my first time coming to the ball, and I'm not used to be around people.

It was already 8'oclock when I arrived at the hall. I was looking around to find Alex, but he was nowhere to found. I kept looking for him because I was starting to feel uncomfortable with people who keep looking at me.

I ended up sitting alone at one of the stools while drinking tequila while watching some couples on the dance floor. I suddenly felt my tears streaming down my face, and I was thanking God that my make-up was waterproof.

"And I didn't see that coming."
