CHAPTER 8: HIS WEDDING

*Ring ring

I heard my phone ring, exactly I went outside my comfort room. I looked on my screen who is the caller and saw Sebastian’s caller I.D. I immediately accepted the call and greeted him.

“Hello Thena, are you ready?” He said

“Well not yet, I’m still fixing myself. How about you? Are you done?” I asked him while brushing my hair.

“Yes! And I am on my way there, so I can fix your hair. So like usual, dry your hair and change your dress okay?” He said

“Oh okay! Take care.” I said and ended the call. Maybe, he and Athena are close, that until on fixing Athena’s hair is his duty. Well, I just obliged what he said, and a few minutes after drying my hair, one of our maid knocked on my door and informed me that Sebastian has arrived.

“Manang, can you tell Sebas—I mean Din to come here in my room?” I asked one of the maids here.

“Of course senorita.” She said and headed downstairs, I closed again my door and waited for Sebastian.

*knock knock

“Come in,” I screamed from inside because I am searching the shoes that we bought from the boutique shop.

“Hey Thena, what are you doing, and why are you laying on the floor. My goodness, you are already wearing your dress!” He said and walks toward me.

“Oh, I don’t know where I put the shoes we have bought from the boutique shop,” I said and continue searching.

“You will not find it here Thena.” He said, so I looked at him and notice that he is holding an extra paper bag.

“Is that my shoe?” I asked about the paper bag he is holding using his right hand.

“Yes Thena, you forgot it in my car. My goodness!” He said and handed me the paper bag.

“Thank you, Sebastian!” I said and hugged him.

“Okay! Enough with this drama, I need to fix your hair. So go sit here, and where is your curler?” He said while guiding me to sit in front of my looking mirror. Well, I don’t know where is Athena’s curler.

“Wait I will just ask my Mom, and also borrow her makeup kit,” I said and headed downstairs.

“Manang, where is my Mom?” I asked one of our maids.

“She’s in her room senorita.” She said. I just nod at her and head back upstairs. I knocked on her room and headed inside.

“Hey, Mom,” I said and kissed her on her cheeks.

“Hi, my daughter, what brought you here? I thought Sebastian is here, and helping you to fix yourself?” She said, and stand up from their bed.

“Ah yes Mom, he’s here, and he was about to fix my hair Mom, but I don’t know where is a curler. And also Mom, the makeup kit.” I said

“Oh it was in your closet, the first drawer, your curler is there and your makeup kit is on the last one.” She said

“Thank you, Mom!” I said and immediately head towards my room. as I reached my room, I saw that Sebastian is laying on my bed. I went to him and waylay him.

“Oh my goodness Thena! Are you trying to kill me?” He said and immediately stand up. It seems that he is trying to catch his breath. Did he got surprised?

“Hey, Sebastian!” I said and I am starting to get scared because it’s like he is having a hard time breathing. I was about to call my Mom when I heard him laughing so hard, so I looked at him and saw that he is dying from laughing.

“Argh! I hate you!” I said while I am walking towards him. He is still laughing and not paying attention to me. So I just head towards my closet and get my curler and my makeup kit. I started fixing myself, and with that Sebastian stopped laughing and went near me, but like what he did earlier, even though he is saying something I am not listening to him.

“Hey, Thena!” He screamed on my ear, and with that, I looked at him with my unusual sharp gazes.

“Oh, what did I do wrong?” he said while raising his hands.

“It was you who waylaid me first!” he said. I just get back on what I am doing, until he hugged me tightly from my back. With that action of his, I was really surprised.

I flinched because it's not that I am not used to his hugs, but this hug is different. It's like he is not the soft-hearted Sebastian, but a manly Sebastian. Since I am feeling uncomfortable, I immediately stand up, to remove his hug.

"Hey! Ahm, you should start fixing my hair." I said and sit again.

"Ah yes!" He said and while fixing my hair, and my makeup we are quiet. No one dares to speak, but since I can't take this silence anymore, I try to open a conversation.

"Hey, Sebastian!" I said

"Yes?" He said.

"Ahm. Nothing." I said and remained silent until he finished my hair and my makeup he is not saying any word. After fixing my hair, he went inside my comfort room, because he said he needs to get changed, but 20 minutes have passed ever since he went inside, he still hasn't come out. So I decided to check him.

"Hey, Sebastian!" I said while knocking on the door.

"Yes!" He said. Oh, so he's still alive. Just kidding!

"Nothing just checking on you, because 20 minutes have already passed ever since you went inside," I said.

"Oh really? I am almost finished, just wait there." He said, so I just sit on my bed and wait for him. I looked at my comfort room's door when I heard it opened. I was really surprised and shocked by Sebastian's look. He is so handsome, the tuxedo suits him well, it highlights Sebastian's natural good-looking face. I've never noticed that he is already in front of me if he hasn't waved his hand on my face.

"Oh! I'm sorry." I said and looked away from him. I heard him giggle to what I acted.

"It's fine Thena, I am used to that, every time we are going to attend some formal party, you are amused on how manly I am every time I am wearing a tuxedo." He said while smiling. He is handsome, and more handsome every time he smiles.

"Let's go?" I said and get my bag.

"Wait before going, let's make sure that we are okay." He said and made me face him.

"Yes Sebastian, we are fine!" I said and hugged him.

"And I'm sorry, for acting silly earlier," I said, I felt that he rubbed my back and hugged me tightly.

"It's fine." He said and we parted and started walking. As we headed downstairs, my Mom went outside their room.

"Hey Din, you are about to leave?" She said and walk near us.

"Yes, Aunt!" He said and kissed my Mom on her cheeks.

"Oh my! Athena, you are so gorgeous!" She said and kissed me on my cheeks.

"Thank you, Mom!" I said.

"You better get going, you can't be late for the wedding." She said and pushed us. We just laugh at her and continue walking until we reached his car. While on our way, I am asking him, why he is so good at styling.

"Well, my Mom is a hairstylist and makeup artist. When she has a customer, I can't help but watch her, and with that, I taught myself to do it." He said.

"Oh, I see," I said and looked at the window. We stopped in front of a huge church.

"We're here." He said. I just nod at him and went outside the car. While walking inside the church, I don't know but I am nervous.

"You're nervous, aren't you?" Sebastian asked me, I just nod at him and I feel that he hold my hand tight. I looked at him, and he smiled at me like he was saying that he is here for me. I mouthed thank you, and it somehow calms me down. We sit in the middle part of the church and waited for the ceremony to start. After a few minutes, the pianist started playing and the ceremony starts. It only lasts a few minutes, and we drive to the reception area. The reception was held at one of the famous, and luxurious hotels in the Philippines. As we headed inside, one of the receptionist asked for our invitation, so we handed it to him and he guided us to our table. It was a round table for two, and there is a paper where our name was written.

"Here is your table, Ma'am and Sir." He said. As we sit on our table, he served us with a glass of champagne.

"Thank you!" I said and sip a little. After a few minutes of waiting, the program started, and the newlywed enters the stage. A round of applause welcomed them, and Michaelis started speaking.

"Good evening everyone! Thank you for coming, and witnessing our wedding today." He said and everyone clapped.

"I don't know what to say, because the organizer only said that, I need to entertain you guys for a while. Since I am not an entertainer, I don't know what to do." He said and with that everyone laugh. He seems nice, and a happy person.

"But, I guess like every newlywed couple, the way they entertained their guess, is they told the story about how they started as a couple." He continues.

"Well! She is not my first girlfriend, nor my first love. I had a Filipina girlfriend, for more than 5 years. I love that lady, but since she is not a Japanese, nor she has Japanese blood, my father is against our relationship." He said. I am feeling awkward about what he is telling. So I looked at Sebastian, and it seems that he is checking me. 'Are you okay?' he mouthed. I just smiled at him and nod.

"Since my father is against it, he decided on fixing my marriage, at first I am really against it because I love my Filipina girlfriend. But because he said that if I haven't ended our relationship he will do something bad to her, so I decided to broke up with her and cut our connection. I was hurt and broke with that, but when I met this woman beside me and getting to know her more, I started falling in love with her, and thank my father because he chose a nice and warm woman for me." He said and wipe his tears. You can feel, that he is really in love with his wife. I can't help but get emotional, not that I still love him, but because the sincerity of this guy, can touch your heart.

"Hey, why are you crying? Don't tell me you still love him?" Sebastian said and handed me a tissue.

"No! His sincerity makes me emotional." I said and wiped my tears.

"Oh! I thought you still love him." He said

"Hahaha, you must be kidding me. I can't remember him, and our past, so how can I be still in love with him?" I said.

"Always remember Thena, the mind can forget but our heart cant." He said

"The love you once felt for him, will always be there in your heart, it cannot be forgotten, but it can be replaced with a greater feeling. " He continues. After that, we started eating, and the newlyweds are accomodating their, guests until they reached our table.

"Oh! Athena, thank you for coming." Michaelis said and hugged me.

"Of course! How can I miss this biggest event of your life." I said and parted from the hug. I also hugged her wife and congratulated them. We took pictures, and after that, they move to the next guess. After that, we decided to go home. While on our way, we are talking about the wedding.

"It was magical!" I said

"Yes it is, and that's what love brought, magic." He said and we stopped in front of our main door.

"Thank you, Sebastian!" I said before going out.

"No worries! Hey if you are available tomorrow, call me. Let's go somewhere." He said, I just nod at him and closed the door. As I enter our house, I saw that Jetrick is sitting on the sofa, and it looks like he is waiting for someone, and more likely he is waiting for me?

"Hey!" I said while walking towards him. He stands up and faced me, and by looking at him he looks like he is in a really bad mood. Crap! I forgot to tell him, that I will be attending Michaelis's wedding.

"Are you fin---"

"Where are you from?" He said with a really serious and scary voice.

"Look at what time it is!" He said, so I looked at my wristwatch and saw that it's already 10:00 in the evening.

"Well, we attended Michaelis's wedding," I said and sit on the sofa.

"You attended your ex-boyfriend's wedding without telling me? Or is it a wedding?" He said, sounding like he is suspecting me I did something wrong.

"Yes! We attended his wedding! And what's the matter with that!" I said and started walking.

"It matters to me because he is your ex-boyfriend, Athena, for heaven's sake!" He said sounded so frustrated. I looked back at him.

"So? Like what you've said! He is my ex-boyfriend. Ex, which means it's in the past!" I said with my unusual high pitch voice.

"Of course it's in the past!" He said in sarcasm.

"What's your problem?!" I said

"Why are you angry? I'm sorry if haven't told you, if that's the issue, I'm sorry!" I said

"That's the issue, Athena, you haven't told me that you are going somewhere today, and what's worst is that you went to your ex-boyfriend's wedding!" He said

"I don't get you! You are being unreasonable here! He is my ex-boyfriend, and he is already married! So why are you so angry?!" I said and started walking again.

"Because I am just worried about you. I know that you still love him." He said that made me stopped.

"What are you saying? I am over him okay?" I said

"No, you're not!" He said

"And what makes you so sure?" I asked him

"It is because you were not really in love with me." He said

"What are you saying?" I said

"Like I said you are not really in love with me. You've just used me because you don't want to look like a loser the moment you knew about the real situation of Michaelis." He said. I don't get him, it doesn't matter, right? Because Michaelis is already married, and besides I don't know that Michaelis guy from the start, because I am not Athena.

"You know, let's just talk tomorrow. You should go home." I said and continue walking, but he grabbed my arms.

"What?!" I said

"We aren't done talking." He said

"Yes, we are," I said and called one of my butlers. So they guided him outside and I headed towards my room.
