HIS irresponsible father was the one who made his life this miserable. That’s the reason why even if he had sex with random women, it’s always in his rules to have them use pills to avoid unwanted pregnancy. He doesn’t want anyone experience the same ordeal him and Amethyst had. His father had sex with a woman he didn’t even know got pregnant. And their offspring became the love of his life but also the one who ended it. He can’t let himself cause that kind of pain to anyone else.

He’s a bad guy but not to an innocent child who’s not even born yet. If he finds out that the baby is really his, of course he’d recognize the child. But what made him snap is hearing this woman give up the custody to her child that easily. How can she be so heartless? He knows they didn’t made it out if love but it’s still her baby.

But what makes him more confuse is how this woman is also crying hard right now after he told her she’s bleeding.

“Please be okay, baby. Please be okay.”

She keeps on saying those words until they reached an OB gyne’s clinic.

“The baby’s fine. For now.”

Though he’s still in doubt that the baby is his, he somehow felt relieved to hear that the baby’s safe.

“But to tell you honestly, the baby is weak. Since you’re already aware about the pregnancy, then I guess you’re taking vitamins.”

He looked at Sairah who shake her head. “I-I was prescribed but I haven’t taken it yet.”

“I’m sure your doctor told you how important taking vitamins is, Mrs. Fuentes. And you,” the doctor looked at him sharply. “You should help in reminding her to take her vitamins. It’s not just the mother’s responsibility to take care of your child. Remember, she didn’t make that baby by herself.”

“W-well, I only-.”

“I don’t want to hear any alibis from you. What I want you to do is make sure that your wife and the baby are healthy, okay? Don’t give her stress, provide her healthy foods and a lot of rest. Do you understand?”

“I’m sorry but we’re having a misunderstanding here. I’m not this woman’s boyfriend. The more I’m not her husband.”

“But you are her baby’s father?”

“That’s what she told me but I’m not-.”

“Hush,” the doctor raising her index finger to silence him. “Stop explaining before I cut your dick,” looking in between his legs.

He closed his mouth and his hand automatically covered his precious weapon after what she said. He can’t lose his dick. It’s the only thing that’s giving him happiness.

“Good. You can leave now and better take good care of her or else!”

“Y-yes, Doc. ,” he said before carrying Sairah who obviously got surprised in a bridal style. “T-thank you, Doc. We have to go,” he didn’t give the doctor a chance to talk and left the room in a hurry.

When they’re already inside his car, he wiped his sweat in relief.

“That doctor is scary as hell. There’s no way we’d come back here for your next check up.”

SHE looked at Kaidic. Did she heard him right? “N-next check up?”

He looked at her with suspicion. “Why, are you not planning to have another check up just like how you’re not taking your vitamins? Don’t you really care about your baby’s health?”

“O-of course I do,” she said while touching her tummy. She believe there’s not a single mother who don’t. It’s just that they face different circumstances that makes them commit wrong decisions and fail to be a good mother.

“Then why you didn’t take your vitamins?”

“I-I just lost my job and-.”

“Does a vitamin worth all of your salary?”

“N-no. It’s just that my Dad’s condition worsen that time. I had to buy his medicine. And also, my sister, Livi needed money for her job requirement. I-.”

“That’s why it’s fine to put the baby’s life in danger?”

She didn’t respond. She knows that even if she reasons out, she’s still at fault. But it doesn’t mean she didn’t care. Life is just too hard for her these days. And she knows that’s one of the reasons why she had a bleeding.

Kaidic took a deep breath. “Tell me everything you need while you’re pregnant, I’ll provide it for you,” he said as he starts the engine.

“Provide? Does that mean you already believe me? That I’m carrying your baby?”

“Do I have other choice?” He questioned her back while looking at the road. “Just make sure you’re not lying to me because if I found out that that’s not my baby, be ready to go in jail.”

“There’s no way I’d end up in jail since this is really yours.”

“Once you give birth and that child is really mine, like what you want, I’ll take care of the baby. But for now, all you have to do is rest and make sure the baby will be safe and healthy.”

It was her idea to give him the baby when she gives birth but hearing it from Kaidic made her heart feel uncomfortable. She knows it will be hard but she have to prepare herself for it and never change her mind no matter how it hurts.

For now, what she have to be concern of is how she can provide for her family when she has to rest for the baby’s health.
