Chapter 3: At the Audition

While I was on the stage, I could only think of one thing "FOOTLOOSE".

I was facing the audience to see Jamie, Paul, and Jason the seniors who were on the selection team. Each of them had expertise in a particular form of dance and I had been following them so as to get a hang on how to indulge them in my dance form after all homework is necessary.

I closed my eyes and began to groove with the music. My routine was prepared and I went with the flow. The contemporary dance form is all about letting yourself loose, to express your emotions and it is also said it connects your mind and body.

While dancing I did several leaps and splits, my major idea was to cover much of the dance floor space. Dancing from a very young age I did not have much fear or nervousness, I could let loose myself and let people connect to my soul through dancing, that was one thing I had been taught since a very young age "connect" is very important, today I could finally feel the efforts of all these years of learning actually pay off.

I was dancing to the tune of A Thousand Years by Chistina Perri, being a Twilight fan this one was close to the heart.

I finished my part with a split and looked straight towards the selection panel, and I must say they had a welcoming smile, this made me feel a little better and boosted my confidence.

After all the performances were completed, we were told to wait for a while until the results were out. In the meantime, I had a quick conversation with Tina. She was fun, bold, and friendly, we were chatting for a while and then she pointed out towards a girl at the distance, she was short but had a pretty face and brown eyes, Tina said "Look at her she didn't even manage to dance well but still is going to be in the team" I was a little surprised and asked "How are you so sure about it?" to which she responded "She is Paul's new muse in the school, have seen them hooking up in the bleachers after his matches" I was honestly speechless, "Tina, I don't think that is how the selection process works" She said, "Oh darling, you will see."

We were interrupted by the announcement at the distance. "Everyone who participated in the audition please come closer to the stage we have the Wisdom High Dance Team ready". I looked at Tina and she glanced at me with an 'All the Best' gesture.

This was the time I had been eagerly waiting for, but being an overthinker I had so many series of thoughts in my head, will I get through? What if I don't? What will I do next? all of this was hitting me at once. I tried to calm down and faced the stage with my fingers crossed and waiting to just hear my name.
