Chapter Eleven— Arrival

Galaxia's POV

At exactly 10a.m, the pilot announced our departure and the co-pilot stated some safety measures in case of an emergency. I used my seatbelt and continued doing what I was doing.

The interior decor of my private jet had a cream, white and gold coloured theme. The seats were placed in juxtaposition with alternating settees and single–person chairs. Small beautifully made tables, with flower vases on them, were placed before each chairs. There were two chairs placed at the centre, directly facing the smart LED TV mounted on the wall. The entirety of the arrangement appeared regal yet simple with little white lights placed on the ceiling.

By 10:47a.m, we were already in the air, heading towards our destination. I glanced up to see Crawford gripping the arm rest and closing her eyes shut. "Are you trying to rip my couch?" I asked.

She opened her eyes and quickly removed her hands. She looked down and started fiddling with her fingers.

"I'm sorry, m-ma'am. I-it's just that I'm scared of air travel a-and anytime I do, my mom or d-dad hold my h-hands to make m-me feel be-better."

I scoffed and my face hardened when I said

"So what? Are you expecting me to hold your hands? Is that a valid reason to rip my couch? That thing alone is one hundred times your worth, so even if I sell you and everything you own, it still won't be enough to replace it."

"I-I'm sorry m-miss Galaxia.” She apologized, her eyes glistened with tears. I ignored her and continued my work.

After a while, I got tired of drawing and I was hungry. I stood up and headed to the kitchen to grab something to eat. I saw one of my flight attendants and she asked,

"You must be hungry. W-what would you like me to p-prepare for you, miss Galaxia?" I walked past her and opened the fridge to see my tub of cookies 'n' cream ice cream. I grabbed it, checked the cabinet and took my bag of chips.

I walked back to my seat, turned on the television and started watching a movie. Later, I grew tired and decided to take a nap since we had about four hours left before the jet landed.

I headed into my jet room to take a nap. The room was also finely decorated, strictly to my taste. It was situated at the top floor of my jet. The colours, cream and light brown were dominant and the queen sized bed was placed at the centre to face the rows of windows that look out towards the majestic skies. A divan was placed at one side of the bed close to the stairway and a nightstand, with a likewise cream coloured lamp placed on it, stood on the other side of the bed.

There were a total of four rooms in the jet. Another room was finely decorated like mine specially for any of my family members or friends that choose to make use of my jet while the other two were fairly furnished, containing davenports with nightstands beside them rather than beds.

After sometime, I didn't know how long, I jolted awake from my sleep. I had the nightmare again. I groaned and headed into the bathroom to wash my face.

I went out of the room and saw Crawford sprawled out on the couch. I sat down and turned on the tv. We had like an hour and half before we arrived in New York.

I was overly bored and I decided to alternate between listening to music, drawing, watching tv and just staring out the window.

Finally around 6:50p.m, the pilot announced that we would be landing in ten minutes. I sighed in relief and went into the room to check if I forgot anything.

I started rounding up my stuff like my sketch pad, laptop, phone, headphones and other things. I looked over at Crawford and saw that she was still sleeping and snoring quietly.

My face contorted into a scowl and I called out her name.

"Crawford, get up." I said, still packing my things.

She only hummed in reply and turned over, leaving one of her leg to dangle from the couch. I looked up at her and saw she was still sleeping. She was starting to annoy me.

"Crawford, I said get up," I said a bit higher. This time, she didn't do anything but continued snoring. I walked over to her and kicked her dangling foot aggressively.

"Get the hell up!" I shouted and she jolted awake. She looked around and her eyes widened in realisation of where she was and who she was with. Her face went pale and she tried to speak.

"M-m-miss Galaxia, I- I'm s---" She tried to speak with her quivering lips and tear glistened eyes but I cut her off.

"Save it, I don't want to hear your pathetic sob story. Now, get up and pack your things." She sniffled and immediately got up.

She looked around and started trying to pack her things. Keyword: trying. She was so disoriented. I said to her with the scowl still on my face,

"If you for any reason, leave something behind or forget something, keep in mind it will be thrown away immediately. So get your freaking head straight and pack up!"

With shaky hands, tear glistened eyes and quivering lips, she packed her things. She stumbled a bit, looked down at her feet and started playing with her fingers.

The voice of the pilot came echoing round the jet as he said the words I'd been waiting for throughout the entire journey.

"We'll be landing in five minutes. Please take your seats and strap your seat belts on, thank you." he announced.

I sat down and used my seatbelt. The whimpering and sniffing noise coming from Crawford was starting to piss me off so I looked over and glared harshly at her. She immediately shut up and looked down.

Finally, after about fifteen minutes, I walked out of the jet with Crawford following behind. The driver opened the door for me. I entered the backseat and Crawford sat in front.

I looked out the window and asked,

"Did you inform HQ of my arrival in New york?"

"N-no ma'am. I didn't t-tell them that you were c-coming, but I will c-call them n--"

"Don't. Take me to a hotel for today, then tomorrow we'll go to HQ. During my stay there, look for a house to buy. I don't want to spend more than one night in a hotel."

I looked up at her through the centre mirror and saw she was already looking at me.

"I trust you know what I want, right?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

She visibly gulped and nodded her head emphatically.

"Right, Crawford?" I reiterated tauntingly.

"Y-yes miss Galaxia."

I looked away, put on my headphones and closed my eyes to revel in the lyrics and beat of the song.

     Hello, hello

Can you hear me, as I scream your name

    Hello, hello

Do you need me, before I fade away

Is this the place that I call home

    To find what I've become

    Walk along the path unknown

We live, we love, we lie

Deep in the dark I don't need the light

    There's a ghost inside me

It all belongs to the other side

We live, we love, we lie...

While listening to The Spectre by Alan Walker, I drifted off to sleep.

    Flashback(nightmare).

"D-danny, what are you d-doing? T-this is not y-you," I said with quivering lips.

He scoffed "not me? Not me?" He reiterated and the next thing I knew, he grabbed my hair and dunked my head deep into the water.

I struggled against his hand and he brought my head out. I was taking deep breaths when he said "You know nothing about me," and he dipped my head back in.

I kept struggling but to no avail. I felt my life being sucked out of me and I couldn't bear it, so I dug my long nails into his arm. He brought my head out and I started taking as much air as my lungs could carry.

I was a bit relieved, but that was short-lived as he yelled "You bitch!" My eyes widened in shock as he grabbed my neck and slammed my back against the wall.

His hand tightened around my neck and I was suffocating. I started clawing at his hand, I looked around and saw the whole school watching us. Some were filming, some had amused expressions on their faces and others had pathos and scared looks.

"H-help m-me," I croaked out. His hand tightened even more and I looked back at him. I felt my eyes roll to the back of my head involuntarily and the devilish smirk on his face was the last thing I saw before slipping into unconsciousness.

    End of flashback(nightmare).

I gasped awake and looked around. My heart was beating wildly, my hands were shaking, I was taking deep breaths and sweating profusely.

"M-miss Galaxia, are you okay?" I felt someone touch me and my eyes darted towards the right. I could see Crawford and the driver looking at me with worried expressions.

"M- miss Galaxia?" She tried to touch me again.

"Don't you dare touch me!" I shouted and she flinched. I looked around and saw we were parked in front of a building with King's Hotel written boldly at the top.

I grabbed my things and got out of the car. Entering the hotel, I hurriedly made my way to the elevator. Crawford ran after me with two sets of keys.

She handed one to me and we entered the elevator. Immediately I got to my floor, I got out and made my way to my room with hastened footsteps, eager to be alone.

I got in, headed to the bathroom and splashed water on my face. I laid on the bed and took deep breaths. Glancing at my wristwatch, I saw it was past 8p.m.

"Looks like there's no sleeping at all tonight, Laxy." I mumbled to myself with a frustrated sigh as I heard a knock at the door and the bellhop wheeled in my luggage.

I went into the bathroom to take my bath, hoping to get rid of the terrifying feeling that nightmare had left just like the others I've had. Filling the tub with warm water and my bath soap, I proceeded to sit inside. I massaged my temple and relished the warmth of the water on my body. The jet lag was starting to set in and no matter how many times I'd travel, I could never escape it. A warm bath always seemed to help in my case, so I always had one after every trip.

After a while, I got out and put on my pyjamas. I grabbed my phone and called my mom. She picked on the second ring and her voice hurried out of the phone.

"Honey, how are you? Are you okay? Did you get there safely? Have you found a place to stay?"

"Hi mom, I'm fine. I'm okay. I got here safely and I've lodged in a hotel."

"Ok honey that's good. But don't tell me you plan to stay in a hotel all through your stay in New york?"

"No mom, I don't. I'm only staying for one night. I already told my P.A to get a house."

"Ok honey...” I heard muffled sounds in the background before she said,

“Oh honey, your dad wants to speak with you."

"Hi Laxy."

"Hi dad."

"How are you? Did you get there ok?"

"Yes dad, I did."

"Ok. I heard you were looking for a place to stay."

"Yeah dad. My P.A will handle that."

"I might be able to help you with that. How about you try King's Real Estate. They have really amazing buildings."

"Really? I think this hotel I'm currently at, is theirs as well. But how do you know them?"

"The CEO of the company and our company are going to sign a partnership contract in the near future. We will be partners in the real estate business in order to expand the business and make it a world wide thing."

"Oh I see. So you guys will be partners soon."

"Yes sweetie. How about you check their website and choose what house you'd like. Send the pictures to me and I'll take care of it."

"Oh there's no need for that, dad. I don't want to stress you. Crawford will take care of it."

"No it's fine. Really. I have nothing to do and I'm overly bored right now. This would keep me busy."

“Hey! What do you mean by you're overly bored? I'm here keeping you company, aren't I?” I chuckled as I heard my mom complain at the background.

“...I'm here baking some cupcakes and I asked you to help me so you wouldn't be left alone and what you have to repay my kindness is to say that I'm boring?” She continued her rant. My dad quickly apologised to her and tried to soothe her with words of flattery which she eventually fell for, before returning to the phone call while chuckling.

“Your mother acts like a kid sometimes.” I could envision him shaking his head with a loving smile on his face.

“She does, doesn't she?” I replied with a chuckle of my own.

"Back to the residential issue, are you sure you want to do it, dad?"

"Yes honey, I'm sure. Do that and send them to me, ok?"

"Ok dad, if you say so. Alright dad, bye. Love you."

"I love you too, sweetie. Take care."

"Wait let me speak to her too. You can't be the only to speak to her..." I heard my mom say in the background before the line cut off.

I chuckled to myself because I knew my dad was definitely going to be punished for that. I searched for the real estate stuff and sent the pictures of the one I liked to my dad. And I must say I was impressed with what I saw and that says a lot as I'm rarely ever impressed by anything.

I plugged my phone into the charger and brought out my laptop. I started up a movie to watch and when the movie ended, I decided to go stargazing. It was kind of like my relief measure against stress and my constant nightmares, aside music that is.

I stepped into the balcony and looked at the stars before sighing deeply, wondering what tomorrow was going to bring.
