Kenneth's POV

"A total of two; have been missing since four days ago."

"Today is a full moon, we have to move fast and find them today. Get ready to move out tonight." I order and hang up the phone.

I sigh, my hands massaging my temples as I try to not think of what will happen if we will be late tonight. I spin myself in the office chair, a thing I'm used to do when frustrated. Lately I've been receiving reports of missing omegas and of the past reports, we only saved one out of ten but we sadly lost him as well due to medical problems.

I became Alpha of my pack when I was ten years old and King when I was fourteen due to some unknown sickness that my father had. It's rare for a werewolf to get sick and more likely a powerful Alpha. We tried looking for a cure but nothing was found. My mother had wanted to rule but the laws do not allow a Luna to do so. So as the next in line, I was given the right to rule since then.

In all the years that have passed, I've faced so many challenges. I’d say I’m used to it but some cases still blew my mind with their strangeness; like this problem I'm facing at the moment. Someone is playing some sick game by kidnapping the omegas and later on killing them. It started a year ago but now it is getting serious with many numbers of missing omegas. I'm trying my best to figure out the purpose of their act but so far, I’ve got nothing.

This is the second time I've found a location to where the omegas are being kept. The kidnappers are skilled and know how to hide their tracks which makes it difficult for me and the King's Assassins to find them. I founded the King Assassin squad, which has a total of 20 deadly trained warriors. People thought, since I was young, they could practice evil acts in my kingdom and so I had to play young by day and an assassin by night, in order to eliminate all evils. Whenever there is a problem, I send them out to deal with it but when it's serious like this situation, I lead them.

Tonight I'm leading them to the location which I found. It’s for the best to go at night since during the day I'm watched by a lot. At night it's all about action, while we investigate and lay out plans during the day. I have three hours before we move out, which means I have to finish today's paper work before then, so I abandon my thoughts and start working right away. I hear footsteps approach the office door and by the sound of it, I know it is my mother.

"Son," he calls, opening the door.

"Yes, mum," I answer while looking at him with a smile.

"I'm leaving the house to see Alpha Luke and will be back in three days."

"Now?" I ask since I never knew of such an arrangement before. Alpha Luke is the pack's leader of elders and tends to call for meetings now and then.

"Yes, now." He says and raises his hand to stop me from protesting. "It's important that I meet him and I know you are busy with the papers to escort me on such a journey, so I'm going in your stead. I will take the beta with me to ease your worry." He explains with a smile.

I sigh, my mind filled with thoughts of the mission I have to carry out tonight. I guess I have no choice but to let him go without me. I trust my mother to deal with whatever it is about. I look at my watch and I have less than an hour before the mission.

"Okay mother, I will see you off." I stand from my sit and walk around the large round table full with papers and follow my mother out of the office. I secure the door with no plans of coming here again tonight.

"Take care of your father for me, okay?" My mother says as he’s about to enter the car. I assure him and hug him. "Don't forget your meals, young man, you need food to be a strong Alpha." I chuckle and assure him that I will eat until I'm full so that I can be strong.

I wave as the car pulls away and slowly leaves the house. The sun is just setting and darkness is spreading out. I have less than half an hour to get ready. I collect my food from the kitchen and tell my guards I will be going to sleep after eating and no one has to disturb me, no matter what. I take the food with me to my room and I press it on my desk, not having the appetite to eat at the moment.

I remove my clothes and put on the assassin uniform which is an all-black outfit with a hooded cloak. I tie it firmly and carry my weapons, placing them in their right spots. After dressing, I jump out from my window, into the tree beside it. The distance from my window to the ground is great, so I use the tree first then I jump down from there to the ground.

I run in my full speed, to the meeting point. With help from the darkness, I'm able to dodge the guards on duty. My scent is masked so I don't worry about them smelling me as I swiftly pass by them.

I reach the meet point and one by one the assassins show up. I watch each one closely and register them by their scent. They might have masked it but I can smell it just fine. I nod at them and we spread out as we run to the location. The plan has already been given and everyone knows his position.

We reach the old rundown building of a cloth factory which is where the coordinates led us. I scan the area, noting positions where the enemy guards are. I divided the group in three teams of six. Team A moves out, disarming the outside guards, killing them on spot and they stay on guard. We don't take any prisoners unless it's necessary. Team B moves in securing a way for Team C which will be rescuing the omegas.

We enter the building taking out some guards and go in the direction the omegas are. We reach a door which we crush it down and enter. My eyes land on a man with a knife that is dripping blood to the ground and a lifeless omega by his side. I jump to him, snapping his head, killing him instantly. The fight begins from there as everyone gets engaged in combat.

"Any survivors?" I ask after the fight dies down.

"None; a total of five dead omegas and two are missing. I think they had already been moved before we got here." Hilda replies.

I hold in an irritated growl when I hear what she says. My squad has six female members with Hilda as the third in command. We exit the building and meet up with Team A outside. Just then, a car pulls up near the building and two boys come out from it. They approach us and greet me with a bow.

"What did you find out?" I ask the two boys, Dean, my soon to be beta, whose father is travelling with my mother and Felix, another member of my squad.

"We found something interesting, a connection to all omegas." Dean answers. "All the omegas that have been missing were special; they were skilled healers." He informs.

"Healers?" I ask.

"Yes, healers. Apparently, the kidnappers are looking for a Rolyn. A powerful omega with healing powers that can even heal a dead body back to life." He explains and my mate pops up in my head. This time I don't hold in the growl that rumbles out of anger.

"My son is special Kenneth. He has powerful healing powers and is also called as a Rolyn. You should make sure no harm comes his way because of the powers he possesses..." The voice of my mate's mother sounds in my head.

I took Roman away from his parents six years ago and he now lives with his uncle in a nearby pack. I don't usually visit him and I only visit him on his birthday. I get too busy managing my messed up kingdom that I don't find time to visit, but things will greatly change from now on.

I give orders to the squad and head over to the car. They need to wrap up the corpses and deliver them to their packs for a proper burial. I sit in the driver’s side ready to drive off from the building. The door to the front passenger seat opens and Dean climbs in. I look at him with a questioning look and he shrugs, putting on his spare clothes above the uniform. I change as well, ignoring him and then drive off.

"What?" I ask Ron who has been staring at me for the last twenty minutes I've been driving and it's annoying me.

"Finally! You were ignoring me." He exclaims happily.

Ron has been my best friend since we were young. We drifted apart when I became Alpha and had duties to attend to since he will not be beta until he finds a mate. His father, who was my father's beta, continues his duty until Ron will be ready to step in. But when I started recruiting members of the squad, I first got him and our friendship grew again.

He is the second in command for the squad. He acts a bit childish when we are not on a mission but he's a different serious person when on duty that you might not recognize him.

"So tell me, Kenny. What's up?"

"Nothing."

"You're lying to me, aren't you? I'm hurt. Kenny doesn't trust me." he accuses and starts grumbling things in a low voice.

"I told you about my mate right?" I ask to which he eagerly nods and I sigh. "We are going to see him."

"What? Now? Why?"

"Ask one question at a time, Ron. Yes we are now going to see him. The reason why is that..." I don't find myself saying it aloud, so I leave it there and drive in silence.

"Your mate has healing powers, doesn't he?" Ron asks after a bit of silence and I find myself nodding at that. I can't tell him that he's not just a healer but a Rolyn. It's safe if he knows he's just a healer and nothing more to it.

I link Alpha Drayton when I cross the boarders, entering his territory. Soon I hear his warriors running in wolf form at each side of the car. I ignore them and drive up to the pack house, parking the car and getting out.

"Why a late night visit, son?" Alpha Drayton ask, when we are invited in his house and seated in his office where I requested we talk, to insure no one eavesdrops on us. He has been a good friend of my dad for a long time before I even knew he was related to my mate and I'm used at him calling me son.

"Omegas of surrounding packs have been kidnapped since last year and it's getting worse." I explain and he nods for me to go on. "These omegas are all healers. They go missing and are only found dead."

"They must have a motive. Do you know what exactly they are looking for?" He asks and I will myself to politely answer him. I can't afford being rude to him or else he won't let me take my mate.

"A Rolyn, they are looking for it." Ron answers. “They won't stop at nothing until they get one and they will have every healer checked."

"The reason I'm here is to collect my mate." I state.

"That ha-"

"He is a healer and I want to ensure his safety. I need him by my side and only then will I be assured of his safety. You should understand, Alpha." I cut him off to explain my reasons.

"Okay." He sighs and I look at him in disbelief. He has accepted without more arguing and I was prepared to argue more on this because I knew how he was at times.

"I understand you, son. I'm an alpha too and I know how it is when mates are involved. I also want him safe and you will keep him safe more than I can." He says.

I breathe down in relief that he accepted my request. His parents gave the consent of him to come to my home when he turns eighteen and now he's not yet seventeen. I greatly expected my request to be denied and even that couldn’t have stopped me; he's my mate after all.

"It's almost 3am and I've prepared some rooms for you to rest in. We'll talk again in the morning." Alpha Drayton says and leaves us with some warriors who escort us to our rooms. After taking a quick shower, I rest on the bed and will myself to sleep, looking forward to seeing my mate in a few hours coming.
