Chapter 5 : High School

High Scool is fun, isn't it? Obviously, it involves a lot of tests and classes but also a hell of drama, friendship and of course, parties.

But for me, it was totally different. I was sandwiched between running around classes, dance practice and my evening mandatory meets with Nate and Lana. To throw light on this, me, Lana and Nate had this pact, that since high school is going to be crazy and we do not want to be those friends who see each other once in a blue moon, irrespective of the schedules we have to see each other before going to bed.

Dance practice was in full swing and so were the classes. I was not one of those who would skip classes so it was super difficult for me to manage everything. There obviously were days when I felt like I can't manage this or that I am hardly seeing mom and dad these days, but all of this felt worth in my head when I saw myself on the stage performing at footloose.

One day after the dance practice Mike who was choreographing us asked me to stay back. He said "Emma, I am so glad that you are in the team and also the way you led Tina into it who deserved it. As you know we have a Wisdom High Dance event coming up and honestly, I know how much footloose means to you, so I thought I should tell you about this, few members from the footloose selection panel will be coming to the event as well so I want you to keep this in mind" I was so touched by Mike's gesture, I replied "Mike, I am so grateful you chose to tell me, I am not a stalker but footloose was on my cards since pretty long and I knew about this and that is why getting in the WHDT was so important to me, as I knew this was my key to the footloose door." He said, "well, after this I don't think anyone can stop you.". I smiled at him and waved a bye.

I saw Lana waiting for me across the door, she loudly said "That guy is totally into you" I told "Shut up, we do not want him to hear this, and moreover, there is nothing like that, he is my choreographer" to which she replied, "Ok whatever, let's go to the cafe."

The next 3 weeks went into juggling between projects, assignments, dance practice, and time with family. The practice was in full swing and one day I came home all drained and tired and there I saw my family with Lana and Nate's family had arranged a dinner to boost me up before my big day. This was honestly an amazing gesture and even though I was drained I felt so good to have so many people who wanted to make me feel special.

I went to bed with so many thoughts in my head and butterflies in my stomach. The day I had been waiting for since long was this close. I was nervous, yet happy. I tried to go to bed and murmured "All the best" to myself.
