It has been five years since she died but the pain just keeps on building up. When his mom told him his wife died, he thought that’s already the most painful news he’d hear. But something have outdone it and that was his true relationship with Amethyst which he can’t accept till now.

“Why you still let us get married? I know we have sinned but we never wanted it. Why do you have to take her away?”

That’s one more thing he’s angry about. Amethyst was just a victim too. Why her life has to be the exchange of their sin? They were good people. It just happened that they became a victim of their impudent father. If his goodness didn’t matter before, why would he still choose to be one?

Kaidic woke up tears pooling in his eyes. He already got used to it though whenever he dreamt of Amethyst. Everyday, the nightmare of his past always visits him. Sometimes, he thought that he should have just died. He’s tired waking up and getting hurt over and over again. He could consider him being alive till now a miracle though. He looks at his wrist covered with scars.

When he first tried to attempt suicide, the fear of leaving his mom alone became his reason why he tried his best to stay alive. But then, he’s not that strong to face life with so much hurt and loneliness. And so, he tried to kill himself a couple of times since he’d go to hell anyways. But maybe he’s really a stinkweed to stay alive till now.

He glance at his phone when the screen turns on. His friend, James is calling. He’s been calling him since morning but he never answered. He went at the door when he heard someone knocking. Did Serene came back? What for?

As he opens the door, he was surprised to see his friends.

“What are you-,” he almost fell on the floor when James jumps on him.

“We were so scared that something bad have already happened to you!”

Bray raised his right arm. He saw relief on his friend’s face when he didn’t see him with a new cut. “Why you’re not answering our calls?” he said with a glimpse of annoyance in his voice.

Right. Apart from being a stinkweed, these idiots are the ones to be blame too. Everytime he attempts suicide, it seems like these two have ways to find it out and arrives at his apartment at the wrong time and saved him. He tried to search for cameras but there was none.

Bray and James are his friends since high school. Before Amethyst became part of Shrewd, they have been with him already.

"Why were you calling me anyways?"

"If you answered it right away, you should have known," James answered sarcastically.

"Have you forgotten? Today's the nightclub's anniversary," said Bray.

When Amethyst died, he built a nightclub on her name and his friends who are now his co-owners are the ones managing it. Since Amethyst was built, he have never attended its anniversary party. He seldom visits it too.

"Are you planning not to come again? Free drinks, bro. I wont make you pay even if you drink all night."

"How dare you bribe the owner," Bray hitting James's head.

" I'm not coming," he said uninterested.

"Nah, I wont take no for an answer. I know you have the biggest share in the nightclub but you still have to experience managing your own business. So go and take a bath," James pulling him towards the shower.

"Wait, what are you going to do?"

"Bath you so it will be faster."

"What?! Hey, let me go. Bray! Help me," him trying to escape from James's grip.

"No problem. What should I remove first? Boxers?"

Most of the time, Bray doesn't play along with James' antics. But this time, these guys are ganging up on him. They really bathed him, dressed him and forced him to go with them.

Even before, it has been their dream especially Amethyst’s to have their own nightclub. So if they're no longer in demand as a band, there is still a place where they can perform. Only a few people knows he's the owner of Amethyst. He think he have been to Louie's club more than his own. It's better that way though especially now that it's their anniversary. He's not in the mood to chat with anyone anyways.
